“I love getting to connect with patients while serving at Watermark Health. Having the opportunity to be so relational reminds me in my practice as a PA that patient care means more than just meeting physical needs. Being in a space that encourages initiating spiritual conversations helps me bring up Jesus in other conversations too.”

We have both medical and non-medical roles on site! MEDICAL
Urgent Care Nurse/Tech - Help kick off the medical visit with intake and facilitate patient care through running tests, filling orders, and helping with patient discharge instructions. During patient care, you also have the opportunity to begin spiritual conversations with patients. Our team will coach you on national conversation transitions and how to clearly communicate the gospel. To serve in this role you must have a nursing license or be certified as an EMT, Paramedic, or MA.
Urgent Care Providers - On-site Advanced Practice Providers (NPs, PAs) and Physicians (MDs and DOs) are a crucial role in helping to meet the medical needs of our patients. You'll have an opportunity to continue spiritual conversations and share the gospel as you tend to the physical needs. To serve on site, it is recommended that providers have experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Primary Care, Pediatrics, or related fields. For more details on the requirements on the Provider role, see the additional related FAQ.
Dental Volunteers - Dentists, Hygienists, and Assistants can serve on site, primarily providing extractions for patients experiencing dental pain. In a similar way to all medical services, not only will you be providing the crucial care needed, but initiating spiritual conversations as you share the gospel, offer biblical counsel, and pray for patients. For additional serving opportunities for dental professionals, review our Satellite Clinic Offerings.
Early Prenatal Care (EPC) Volunteers - If you are a medical professional with a background in OBGYN, you can join our EPC team as they serve women in crucial moments of their pregnancy. You will have opportunities to sit with new moms as they discover their pregnancy, counsel abortion-minded moms towards decisions of life for child, and show empathy and lament with moms who lose a child from a variety of circumstances. This highly pastoral role requires a season of faithfulness serving with Urgent Care prior to involvement.

We have both medical and non-medical roles on site!
NON-MEDICAL
Front Desk - be the first person to greet our patients, acclimate them to the clinic, and host them in the lobby. You'll assist in helping to check them in and show them Christ-like compassion and hospitality from the first moment they interact with our ministry!
Pastoral Care - play a crucial role ensuring that we've engaged in a spiritual conversation with each and every patient in our building. In addition to evangelism conversations, you will serve as a resource on site to have more in-depth spiritual conversations with patients that bring up various trials or biblical counsel needed. Because of the sensitivity and maturity required in this role, volunteers may be asked to serve on site in other positions for a season prior to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.

No! While Watermark Community Church helped to launch Watermark Health, we are a separate organization and welcome and love serving with volunteers from a variety of churches! We do expect our volunteers to be members of a local body of Christ or pursuing membership.
As a volunteer you will need to affirm you align with our core beliefs, outlined in the Belief Statement of Watermark Community Church.
Check out this resource if you would like to know why we believe participation and commitment in a local church body is a normal act of obedience for all believers in Jesus Christ.

Yes!
Because our ministry is centered on sharing the gospel, we do expect all on-site volunteers to believe and live according to that gospel message. To help evaluate if Watermark Health is a good fit for serving, our application includes questions about your faith in Jesus Christ, your biblical beliefs, and church membership.
If you are unfamiliar with the gospel message of Jesus Christ, we'd love to connect with you! Email us at volunteer@watermarkhealth.org.

As a part of the onboarding process, we will collect a variety of documents to credential and privilege you on-site at our clinics. All volunteer providers are covered under the Federal Torts and Claims Act for malpractice coverage. During your onboarding you will be enrolled in this coverage.
Because of the dynamic nature of our clinics and our unique patient population we require providers to have at least one year of experience post-graduation prior to serving in a provider role on site. Many providers chose to serve in the RN/Tech role during this period to grow in comfort with the context of the ministry as well as begin practicing sharing their faith.
More questions related to your credentials or specific situation? Begin our online orientation and our team will gladly answer any questions you might have and guide you towards the best volunteer opportunities for you!
